Ahmed Rilwan Abdulla, a journalist at Minivan News in the Maldives, has been missing since 8 August 2014. Rilwan had recently published a report on death threats received by over a dozen local journalists. Meanwhile, Matthew Rosenberg of the New York Times has been given 24 hours to leave Afghanistan for “non-cooperation” with the Attorney General’s office. Rosenberg was being investigated for publishing a story about government officials conspiring to “seize power”.
