I disagree with your analysis and acceptance of the FoxNews story without any due diligence whatsoever. It starts with your very first sentence. Google has NOT “ranked Pakistan number 1 in the world in searches for pornographic terms, outranking every other country in the world in searches” because this represents only english language searches. The “every other country” is plain untrue.

Further, if you had gone to Google Trends and looked up the terms yourself, you’d have found a host of western countries right below Pakistan in the top 10. Pakistan registers higher than others because, unlike western nations, something like 85% of its Internet users are men, who skew the per capita calculation of these search terms. Correcting for the gender imbalance, chances are there is likely no big difference to write home about.

One of the things I have always enjoyed about your writing Uzi is the ability to deliver both barrels straight between the eyes. Online pornography is truly a curse in Pakistan and I have written on it myself in the past. That had little or no effect either…
